I went to this place with no recommendation found it on yelp and I can't understand why not other people find this place 5 stars I had the pho it's very fresh ...the spring rolls very fresh handmade in the back of the kitchen and I had the spring rolls which were freshif you're looking for a great Vietnamese restaurant this is it in south county in fact I live in Huntington Beach but I would drive down here for the Pho and the food just for the taste this place rocks

This place was pretty good. Service isn't very talkative, but idc. They brought our food out promptly and when I asked for more condiments it wasn't an issue, which is always nice. The Thai ice tea is yummy too.

I like this place. I always get the princess bowl, but they have simpler chicken dishes for my kids. The soup is flavorful, and the service is fast. If you are looking for a solid bowl of Pho, this is the place in mission viejo to go.

I ate here the other night by me onesy and ordered my standard pho with steak and brisket, egg rolls, and a Thai Iced Tea with boba. Firstly, the staff. The service was acceptable. I do not mean that as a derogatory descriptor, just that it was not over friendly or welcoming but they were all very professional and prompt. I was not greeted until I was half-way through the dining area, despite the fact that it was late and they were not too busy at that point. Typically, I don't mind, however I hadn't been there before and wasn't sure if there was a preferred seating area or if the tables were up for grabs so the lack of greeting may have stood out more than it should have. I was brought a menu right away but no one asked if I wanted a beverage, nor was I brought any water. I looked over the menu for about five minutes and spent the next 5 minutes or so trying to make eye contact with a waiter so I could order. Once eye contact was made, my order was taken and the food and drink were brought out very quickly. The check was brought and processed promptly as well. Next, the food. The Negatives: The broth was not quite as rich as I am used to (or as I prefer), and the green onions were a bit sparse. Additionally, the steak wasn't rare. The Thai Tea was among the best I have had, taste wise, however, the boba was on top which is a bit awkward to mix given the ice and fill level of the glass, but that's kind of nitpicky. The Positives: The noodles were quite good, not over cooked or under. The onions were thicker than normal (which I enjoy, though it is certainly a matter of preference), the brisket and steak were tender and tasted great. The egg rolls were fried perfectly and, well, they were egg rolls. They were good. Again, the Thai Tea was very tasty. Overall, I am giving the place 3-Stars because the service was not personal at all, which is fairly typical for a vietnamese place, but compares to some others I have been to I do prefer a more familial experience since I tend to be very loyal to my regular pho establishments. Again, while there were some negatives to the food, overall it was really good...especially for Pho in South Orange County. Pho King Way would not be my first choice, but in South OC, it would definitely be my second choice.

Best pho in south county! Very tasty broth. Regular size is enough for one person- the large just has too much broth with what appears to be the same amount of noodles meat etc. I love the Lettus wraps under the apps, more than enough for a meal. While you are on the apps try the torpedo shrimp, yum! Service can get slow during busy times. I recommend calling ahead to order.

First time at Pho King Way, tasty Pho, ample portions, good prices, and the best damn lemonade I've tasted in a long time. Server forgot my egg rolls, did me a favor, couldn't finish the Pho I ordered.

I only stopped here for lunch because I was in the area. Service - 3.5 stars... Kind of slow. Food- 3 stars... Pho was decent, eggrolls not so much. Thai iced tea- 5 stars!!

Pho is average at best. Service blows..the lizard looking guy needs to go. If the owners are reading this, you need to fire this guy. He acts like he doesn't want to be there...and treats us all with disrespect. If you really hate your job, than do us a favor and find another job. I've met a lot of people with bad attitude but this guy is PATHETIC!! BTW, someone posted a pix of the lizard guy. He's the one that's eating pho on the cover page.

Want a great deal for a ton of protein??? Oh, did I mention that it is super tasty and you get a variety of meat??? Pho King Way...yes, a cute play on words. Based on the other reviews, the Pho is supposed to be really good here but I'm not really a fan of Pho because I feel like the ratio of noodles to protein is way too high. I'm a protein lover. I always order the Com King Way Combo. For $11.95, you get pork chop, beef, sliced pork, chicken, shrimp (sadly, only 2 pieces), egg quiche (with some yummy noodles laced throughout it), crispy shrimp cake wrapped in tofu (?), and a fried egg. This plate is SO BIG that you can eat to your heart's content and still have enough for another meal. I gave this place 4 stars because the rice wasn't fresh. It seemed like it was a day or two old. :0( Also, the shrimp was tasty but COLD. The Vietnamese iced coffee is very refreshing and a nice accompaniment to the meal.

I had tried this place a couple of times when it first opened, wasn't too excited about it. I wanted something light for dinner and soup sounded good since it's been kind of cool outside. Since they're still open I figured I'd try them again. The Pho was good, I got the Princess bowl, the bean sprouts didn't look very fresh and they didn't give as much basil or jalapenos as most places, 2 slices. I asked for more, which wasn't a problem. Their egg rolls are different, something in the filling has an odd taste and texture, I don't care for it. They brought the rolls, 5, with one little piece of lettuce, so I asked for more and got lots. I had asked for hot water, they brought a cup out and I could see grease floating on top, so not sure how clean the kitchen is, but this is common in coffee too. I didn't drink any of the water. I'll come back here for a pho fix, and may try some of their other dishes.

Love this place! And the name. Can't help but giggle every time I see their shirts: "How can I Pho King help you?" Can't really go wrong anything on the menu here... pho, bun, eggrolls, springrolls, rice plates. I sound like a grade A fatty and that's ok. Give this a Pho King try! It's well worth it :D

I have to say, right off the bat, I came here because of the name. I mean, seriously. Does anyone, not? With that out of the way... They were SO very friendly here! I stopped in to place an order to go... they made sure I sat down at a table and was comfortable. The food was made pretty quickly as well. I placed an order for the Vegetable Pho. I have never had Pho before, so I have nothing to compare it to. I dont really love it. I ate a bit and put the rest away. I came back to it two days later and liked it a lot more. Maybe all of the flavors needed the time to mix together, not sure. It wasnt BAD, I just didnt love it. I also ordered Chicken Stir Fry with soft egg noodles to have the next day for dinner. That was delicious. I tasted it when I first got it home, and it was great. It was even better as leftovers as well. SO tasty. I will definitely go back and try some of the other dishes and appetizers :) Maybe even order the Pho again, and just plan to have it a day or two later!

The skinny guy at the register who looks lizard like has a really bad attitude!!! He needs to stop working if he hates it that much!!!

The say they close at 9:30 but when we got there at 9 they were rude and told us they decide to close at 9. ITS SATURDAY. Don't advertise falsely and then proceed to be rude about. It was my first time but I will never come back to even try it.

    (1)
  • Kevin B.

The little rude rat faced guy is dragging this place down. If you are lucky enough to avoid this little man syndrome candidate, you might not be disappointed.

Like any other Asian restaurant in Mission, good because it's near by, bad because it tastes nothing like what you expect or crave for. Beef Pho - Princess Pho- gets a '+' for having lots of meat and noodles; get a "-" for soup base that doesn't taste home made. Rice dish - 3 meat rice dish - lots of meat and lots of rice. The meat is a little.... broken? I see few pieces of BBQ beef and chicken, but not one piece of meat was a full piece, which makes it look like left over bits. Egg roll - good, tasty, delicious, but way too much pepper rolled inside. The fish sauce is also not salty/savory enough. Tip: Not really worth coming unless you're really really really really really really craving for Pho. But, if you're really really really really really really craving for Pho, you should make the drive to Garden Grove or Westminster b.c. this won't satisfy your craving.

This place is bad, from the staff to the food. The peanut sauce looked sketchy. They give u about two tablespoonfuls of fish sauce for your bowl of vermicelli. The three meats ordered were unrecognizable (long fatty chain I was told was pork, had to ask for fork/knife to cut it) even after I called over someone to look, and the third meat was missing?? So they brought over two tiny shrimp. I actually laughed. Had to ask for cilantro, and it was going bad! Is this really what passes for "good" here??? The same guy you had to wait on to bus tables finally comes to take ur order, and also serves your food, did he wash his hands? Ugh!

"No Pho King Way" it should say! I just got done with the tastiest Big Mac and lip sucking salty fries from another place since the rude JA at pho king way shoo'ed us away at 850pm saying they were closed. So here's a 7up yours to this place. I recall another Vietnamese restaurant at Lake Forest a few years ago with the same attitude. I was glad to see that place closed. I'll spend my money elsewhere. I'm glad there are more pho joints here locally.

Best pho I have had in this area, no actually ever! :) I had the regular pho w tai (eye round steak), delicious spring rolls, and AMAZING YOUNG COCONUT juice!! The coconut juice w coconut in it was a perfect ending to a delicious dinner. I will be back!

    (5)
  • Bryce L.

The Pho was NOT flavorful at all Anyone who thought this was a good restaurant should definitely give the pho restaurant in the plaza of Buffalo Wild Wings in Lake Forest a try. Now THAT is a good place!! Thanh Binh II

This is my go to place for a hot bowl of Pho served with various cuts of meat. The Pho broth tastes fresh and light on the palate. I find that a good Pho broth shouldn't be oily so I'm glad they take the time to strain some of that fat away. The noodles and meat were tender, tasty and scrumptious. They provide basil, limes, bean sprouts, chili, etc for all the Pho necessities. When I'm in South County, this is the only Pho King Way to do it.

  • Gregg P.

Good for the $. The Pho isn't mind blowing, but it has good flavor, always piping hot and a lot. The service has always been good. Not great but far from average. The servers are always nice and friendly. I get the prince bowl. I tried the Pho King Bowl but it was too Pho King much. My wife gets the rice dishes and she has always enjoyed the flavors.

Most definitely a good place for food and great pho place for local Mission Viejo, but the service isnt the greatest. Thai tea is absolutely delicious, soup is absolutely great, just the service isnt that great.

I have recently become a pho addict and have been trying to find a good pho place here the Aliso viejo/laguna hill area. This place is my favorite. The broth they make the pho with is the best I've found in town. You can smell the braised bones as soon as you walk in, always a good sign. The noodles are cooked perfectly and are the flat noodle, compared to the other pho place in Aliso that uses that cheap crap noodle and water broth, yuck! I've had the flank and brisket bowl numerous times and it's been consistently delicious. My fiancé has had the meatball pho, along with some other pho and he enjoyed them all as well. We also enjoy the spring roll, which comes with their peanut sauce, which I think is homemade because It has a specific taste from any other peanut sauce I have had. It's some damn good pho. Now the reason I only gave it 4 stars was because of the service. If we were going on food alone I would have given it five. The food service is fast and timely, it's just the servers could care less about the guest themselves. There's minimal interaction and when they ask if your ready, they expect no questions and you to tell them quickly everything you want, I don't know if management just doesnt care because they are always packed and are making enough money, or the whole serving staff pools tips and shares the total at the end. ( this would make sense because then each individual server wouldn't have to worry about their personable attitude , they would rely on quantity over quality to make $$ in tips) regardless of what it is do not expect to be wowed by the service here. It's decent to minimal at best. I come from the service industry, I train the trainers , I know the standard for a guest dining experience should be. I can commiserate on the fact they are usually pretty busy but I know where to draw the line on being busy and just a general lack of participation with the guest. With that being said, I still come here because the Pho. It's too fantastic to be missed out on. Just come in with an unassuming attitude and don't expect much on service. Know what you want by the time they come to take your order, and order everything at once .Who knows you might catch one of the guys in a good mood.

I've been here twice now and both times its been absolutely wonderful. It's a decent casual sit down place with a really nice open patio area. It's full waiter service and the staff is very present and attentive. Their menu is setup a little different than most Pho places and its so much easier to understand than some other Pho places. You can choose the types of meat and how much almost like a Subway. The food tastes amazing, but the real surprise is the ultra affordable prices. Me and my girl had a stir fry dish and a large bowl of 5 meat Pho with Thai Ice Tea and Diet Coke. The price including a full 20% tip was $24.71. If you like Pho you've gotta try this place.

Herro! The guy was mean to me because my brother banged his daughter. I think he spit in my pho but I still ate it. The food was pretty good for south county but I'm afraid to go back.

Authentic Vietnamese food! This is my go-to restaurant when I want Vietnamese food and after a HORRIBLE experience trying a different pho place I appreciate this restaurant even more. So the service isn't that great; they don't write your order down on anything and when the place is busy I've seen the servers literally running which doesn't make for the most relaxing experience. But they've never gotten my order wrong and the food is SO GOOD. The portions are huge and the spring rolls and garlic noodles are seriously amazing. At first I didn't want to come back because of the service and atmosphere but seriously the food is good, inexpensive, and after a couple of times they remembered me and would say "Oh you want spring rolls!" every time I came in so now I love this place! Don't let the service bother you, they just care more about the food they're serving you.

  • Brittney M.

The food might be good but I have never felt more unwanted at a restaurant. The man at the register didn't say anything to me and kept rolling his eyes and was acting as if he was upset that I was ordering. I like to feel welcome where I eat.

LOVE this place. Love the name - love the staff - 1 guy is kinda grumpy but when he gets to seeing us every week - he is starting to smile sometimes. Lol! Give it a try. It's yummy Pho for our area - we don't have alot of choices.

    (5)
  • Jess C.

I give THREE STARS! I give credit for great service, cleanliness and spaciousness.. It's decor is tropical:) the pho part of menu was kinda confusing.. I ordered the brisket and they were generous with the meat and basil/sprouts plate. My one and only complaint was the SODIUM ! Holy Moly I think the salt burned a layer off my tongue... I'm gonna give it another try tho because the flavor was hearty... I'm interested in trying some of the other soups! ATTENTION CHEF: LESS SALT

This is an decent location in Mission Viejo to get a bowl of Pho. They have a nice flavored broth and a decent amount of meat in each bowl. As for their grilled items, in particular, their lemon grass chicken or basil chicken, I would pass. It's okay, but they use a bit too much onion.

    (3)
  • Joe D.

I called to order a few items for take out and the guy over the phone could not speak English. After hello I did not understand a single word and he was being frustrated and had an anger tone like it's my fault. I am a second generation American myself and my own parents aren't good at English either so I do not mean any disrespect to any ethnicity but if you have a business where people call to order take outs you gotta have someone on the phone who is able to communicate in English.

  • Ruben G.

I've been here a few times and the food is good but the service is horrible. Very disorganized and just getting your order in is a hassle. Will be looking for other local spots.

  • Ryan S.

What can I say? I wasn't blown away but didn't leave disappointed, either. Came for the pho, that's what I got. Fast service and the meal was decent. I left full! I did like the little tapioca desert thing, whatever the hell that is. Good chow, will be back if in the area. Wouldn't make a special trip here with other decent choices around.

  • Jay S.

Second time here and I still like this place. It's not the best Vietnamese food I've ever had but it is very good. They have a wide selection of menu options. Garlic noodles are to die for. The pho is very good especially if he get with the Kobe beef

It is what it is. Pho King Bland. You'd think it was OK if you don't know really know pho.

This is our usual Pho restaurant in southern Orange county for my family since there aren't much good Vietnamese restaurants around here. The foods are average but the foods are dirty... I found a death flies on my bowl, plates are not clean, we ordered soda lemonade and it tasted bitter and old like a week ago... We walked in one of the morning and the floor smells full of clorox and very toxic. We requested to sit outside because of the small age children but the waiter didn't allow and there were many tables outside??? Overall, the services here are good.

  • Carolyn H.

First off, props for the name of this place. Love it. The broth is...ok. Not very flavorful...just ok. They definitely pack it with fresh veggies which I love in my pho. The more veggies you can cram in there, the better. The tofu was slightly slimy...HATE that...I prefer it to have just been fried so that it still has a crispy texture even after it's in the broth...this one, not so much. We also ordered some eggrolls and they were cold...definitely frozen and fried, but ours just didn't get cooked long enough. I would eat here again in a pinch, but I don't love it. Again, LOVE the name.

    (3)
  • Nicole S.

Excellent choices and very cheap. Veggie pho is delicious. Wait time is very short for take away. Highly recommended in southern OC.

  • Dominic M.

Last night I went there to order take out. And pretty sizable order at that. The young skinny guy, with long hair, behind the counter acted as if he was seriously pissed at us. His behavior was so shocking and totally unprovoked. He was such an a-hole, he made the "Soup Nazi" look like a maître de in a 5-star restaurant.

    (1)
  • Kt C.

I didn't enjoy this place. I ordered the same meat that I usually do at my regular pho place but it tasted strange here. I also ordered a thai tea boba but the boba was small and shriveled up! I've tasted better thai tea before at other places.. The menu was a bit confusing because usually you can just order a beef pho and it will come with shredded beef but here you have to choose your meats separately and I had no idea what to select because I'm used to pho places giving me a standard kind. The broth in my pho was a little weird tasting too. The free tapioca desserts were too warm and it was pretty gross. I wont be coming back during my next visit.

This place is pho-king amazing ! Great service and the food is tasty. I was dying for some soup and have seen this place so de iced to try it and was completely satisfied. Try it you will like it

I have been coming hear for 2 years. The service is always fast and friendly. The foot is always hot, delicious and cheap. My favorite meal there is their Pho soup.

    (5)
  • Robert H.

My fiance had the Pho Hai Vi (Sea Food broth); it was clear and had a fresh, mild flavor. I had the regular Pho with tripe and flank; it was average for your typical Pho shop. The pricing was great for what it is. I only tried this place because I was out and about and wanted a light, quick meal. Some reviewers trash this place. First, it's going to be hard to find great Pho with that wow factor; secondly, it is run by Asians who may or may not act in that finicky, 'kiss the customer's ass" style that many pretentious S. CA self-proclaimed foodie folks seem to expect. If you want a clean, acceptable bowl of Pho for a cheap price then this place is OK. If you want a "wow" experience, go find an old-country Vietnamese home cook, or pay an exceptional price.

  • Matthew B.

I've eaten here many, many times and am NEVER disappointed! I get a large bowl with brisket, flank, meat balls, and tendon. The perfect meal at any time of day for me. Fast service, very friendly, and good food!

  • Vincent G.

I keep coming back... very tasty and super fast. Very good selection. I have had more flavorful Pho but for the price, service and overall food quality. Excellent. Would certain bring and recommend to my friends.

    (4)
  • Belen G.

The Pho here is delicious!! The best in South Orange County!! I recommend this place to all of my friends. I usually get the princess bowl and they have reasonable menu prices. Always best if you eat there.

    (5)
  • Kristin L.

The pho was really good... One of the best places I've eaten. However, the service was mediocre at best. It wasn't even crowded and our server was nowhere to be found. And when we asked for something else, he seemed super annoyed. I will maybe come back again because the prices are pretty good.

    (3)
  • Megan E.

I had the ox tail pho and it was probably the most flavorless pho I've ever had. They do give you a good amount of sides/veggies but the meat and broth were both disappointing. The service was equally as terrible. As some others mentioned, they are not friendly and welcoming and as soon as I paid I knew I was never coming back.

I am extremely picky when it comes to Vietnamese food...being that I am Vietnamese I think it's fair to be a bit more picky. I have my favorite Vietnamese place and I will always compare any other Vietnamese Restaurants to my favorite. What I love about Pho King Way is the awesome name, seriously...how can you not like it? At least someone dare to be bold and not have a lame number in front of it...like pho 99, 89, 79 or whatever other numbers there are. I secondly love the fact that it's in my neighborhood...I no longer have to drive further when I am craving Vietnamese food. Lastly, I love that they take credit cards/debit cards! I hate it when it's cash only! I've had the Pho here and I am not a huge fan of it. I make Pho at home often so I am very particular about my Pho. What I do like is the broken rice with bbq pork/beef, tried tofu combo as well as the noodles combo. It's hard to mess up these dishes because they are simple...but I will say that the bbq meats in these combo are good and that is very important. I come here to grab dinner to go more often than actually eating here...I typically pick up Rice or Noodles, they are good and fairly cheap. Service is good as well, although some of the servers here are older but they do speak english and they are very friendly and accommodating. Their shirts that says "Pho King All Night Long" or something like that...it's quite funny and I like that the owner has a sense of humor. I would say give this place a try if you are in the neighboorhood...and sit outside in the patio when the weather is nice!

My wife and had never eaten Pho and decided to give this place a try. Walking in we were greeted and seated and the staff gave us a few minutes to look over the menu. After a few minutes the host asked us if we had any questions. He was very helpful and said if we ordered something we didn't like he would happily bring us something different to try. My wife ordered the small chicken Pho and I went with the beef. They had a few different selections of beef, I went with the leanest cut. We also ordered the spring rolls for an app. Everything was awesome! The service, and the food! We will be back!

  • Anthony C.

Came here on whim after discovering the place a few nights ago on a night run to grab some Cold-Stone ice cream. It was just me and my daughter grabbing some lunch. We ordered the egg rolls and bbq steak plate with egg and rice. Egg rolls came first...and were just average. I knew right then the rest of the food would be mediocre. And I'm sad to say it was. Called my wife on the spot to let her know how disappointed we were with our dishes. My wife was born in Saigon so we're always on the hunt for good Vietnamese/Asian food. And I know good Vietnamese food and this sure isn't it. Totally forgetful meals. I would think with a comical name like the Pho King Way the vibe of the restaurant would be more upbeat but it wasn't. Service was good but I felt the waiters were a little pushy at times. Give me a few minutes to study the menu before asking me 4-5 times in quick succession if I'm ready to order. Better off eating at Pho The Bowl, Healthy & Tasty, Thanh Binh II, or Pho 99. Save your money and don't waste your time.

I got the Kobe beef pho, it was very good. Also tried the friend rice which I could not get enough of. The pho was a good portion I could not finish it all. I left with a happy and full tummy. I am only giving 4 stars though because I do wish they sold beer which they did not.

Food is great! The prices are VERY reasonable. I had previously mentioned the bad customer service and given them 3 stars. But I am happy to update them to 4 stars and say I continue to go back and will continue to do so as long as their improved customer service continues. Thank you.

The person who "helped" me is the sole reason for this one star review. I walk in and nobody says anything to me so I just walk to the register to place my order. When I said I wanted 3 items...tendon and rare steak but just an extra order of tendon he said he couldn't do that. If he wasn't being such a blunt a**hole the whole time maybe I wouldn't have gotten so annoyed but since he was being a blunt a**hole I started getting pissed. I sit down at one of the tables and he brings me my food all in to go containers. WTF? I wanted to sit down and enjoy my food here so I ask him for a bowl and tell him that he didn't even ask me if I wanted it for here or to go. He then goes "OH this must be your first time...if you want it for here you have to sit down and wait for a waiter to take your order" WELL THEN WHY DON'T YOU GREET ME WHEN I WALK IN AND SHOW ME TO A SEAT YOU IDIOT. I seriously almost lost it on this guy. What a jerk. Will I come back here again? No PHO KING WAY.

    (1)
  • James K.

Never got a bad attitude here .. But my order is really simple -regular pho with brisket and tendon . They give you delicious mung bean? dessert when you're done eating.. Perfect way to finish the meal. Thai tea was slightly watered down. Spring rolls aren't to die for. But hands down yummy pho

Had the steak pho and a Thai iced tea with boba. The food was great and the boba was good. Service was good as well. I would definitely recommend this place. Prices were fair!

I come here often with my friends that live up the street. If it wasn't for them if drive a little further and find another pho restaurant. Every single time I come here there's an issue with the service. It's as if I'm inconveniencing them by being there. They mess the bill up and they rush you to leave. I can't tell you how many times someone comes by and starts cleaning off our table and I have to tell them that I'm still eating my meal. All in all the foods not bad, but not good either. Like I said, id rather drive a little further to enjoy my meal.

I prefer to only write positive reviews. This was my second visit and I really felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff. I would prefer to spend my money where it's appreciated. Enough said.

This is for the pho only. People said the broth is too salty, I love salty so this was full of flavor and perfect for me! I've been on a pho binge lately and most the broth has been meh, this place is like crack, it has me dreaming about it night after night.

Pho King way? More like phoking horrible, or phoking the worst food and service! I got the worst service from a place I was trying to give my phoking money to! I had order food before and the veggies were phoking brown and limp, the pho noodles were a phoking brick and the rest of the food was phoking old. I should have known since the place is always phoking empty. There food probably doesn't have much phoking turnover. So I tried to go back, give them another try, and order a couple of bowls of pho, wings, and four rice dishes. I got the worst phoking attitude from them. No wonder the phoking place is always empty! Pho King Way is giving a bad impression on real Pho and good food and service on general. No phoking way would I try and give money to this phoking place! By the way, I don't even do much reviews, but I was treated so phoking bad, that I had to!

I brought my mom and son for lunch on a Sunday. They were about half full. We stood around for a bit then decided to pick our own table. No biggie this is a pho restaurant not Mastros you don't expect top of the line service. We were brought menus and I ordered iced tea and the oxtail pho. My mom (pho expert) ordered the princess bowl. My son ordered cooked beef with meatball pho. Everyone agreed this was the best pho restaurant in town. The broth was and rich. No msg taste. All in all delish!!! Much quicker than homemade and very satisfying. We'll be back for more!!

We're talking Mission Viejo here...not where anyone expects to find good ethnic food. Given that, Pho King (...and yes, everyone gets the little funny here when pho is pronounced correctly), is quite good and reasonably priced. The broth for the pho has a deep beef flavor only possible from extended simmering and experience. The rest of the menu is typical Vietnamese variety, good, but nothing particularly special. The only reason for not scoring higher is their 'to go' process. Try calling any weekday night and the guy answering is outright rude, almost to the point of being funny. He yells out 'what want' and when you tell him, he almost sounds mad that you called him. I've tried more than once with same result. Other then outrageously bad take out process, the place is worth a try if you're in MV and looking for a good bowl of pho.

The food here is decent for lake forest, a bit expensive compare to actual Vietnamese food in little Saigon. You can expect poor to horrible service here. With service this bad it kind of ruins the whole experience. I've been here three times and the last time was so bad, I do not think I will be coming back. Foodies, you have been warNed! There are other better locations around el toro if you do not want to chance it.

Our new favorite! We've been looking for a good, authentic Vietnamese place that's closer than Irvine, and this is it. Service isn't amazing or anything, but they remind me of my own Vietnamese family - they keep it real! If you want a real Vietnamese family experience, go here! Their prices are also totally reasonable too. The pho is amazing, and the portions are huge. My boyfriend and I are big eaters, and the princess bowl (the smaller size pho bowl) is always too much for us to finish. They have all the authentic pho meats too - even tripe! And the meatballs are those great, fatty meatballs that my ba ngoai would buy from the Asian market. My boyfriend is a white boy and always gets the pho, but what I get every time is the Com King Way rice combo with a fried egg on it (duh). It's basically rice with a bit of everything: rice/egg with a portion each of chicken, pork, shrimp, beef, and this like...seafood meat patty thing that is just so freaking good. They also have the traditional Vietnamese dessert drink menu, with the bean dessert drink things and some lychee drinks. You can get boba here too. I have suggested this place to everyone I know. Even my mom liked it, and she was born and raised in Vietnam AND is very conservative (I was so afraid she'd hate it because of the name...she thought it was hilarious!).

Pretty good, especially when considering other Pho options in Mission Viejo. (Which is uh, none.) Sometimes when you call, an automated voice answers telling you that they cannot take your call at this time. I guess that means the line is busy.

I cannot believe what just happened!! It is sunday night...just rained and thought pho would be a great place to eat for the weather. My boyfriend and I are walking towards the front door of pho king way and it is 855pm. As we approach the front door into the restaurant, a restaurant worker walks toward us, waving his arms crossing each other saying in the most rude loud voice "NO NO we are closed!" What?! I thought u were closed at 930? Basically he shooed us away...like we were begging for food.....No PhoKing Way!! HOW RUDE!! I usually can take rude but that was PhoKing Rude....maybe they should change the name to that. WOW!! I will not be coming to this establishment!!

I like this place better than Pho Majestic. PM has better service and a friendlier atmosphere but Pho King Way is about on par for service that you find in most Pho shops (sad but true)... no frills, minimal attention, here's your food, yadda yadda yadda. If you are looking for atmosphere Pho Majestic may be your better bet. When I want Pho, it's for the Pho and not the atmosphere. To me Pho King Way is better. The broth is the heart of Pho and PKW has a deeper, more well developed flavor. Side note. I've been to PM 3 times, all around dinner time and it's always been pretty empty. I've been to Pho King Way about 10 times and the ONLY time it wasn't packed was at 3 in the afternoon on a weekday. So apparently other folks agree. ...One downer is the name of the place. I had my 8 year old daughter with me once and I had to intentionally mispronounce "Pho" when she started reading the sign. sigh.

The short of it: - located in a shopping center - menu has a good variety - food takes a long time to come out - Favs: beef stew soup with egg noodle The long of it: NO Pho King Way! I wanted to like this place, but I was so annoyed by the time I left, I don't think I'm ever coming back unless I order to go or something. Everything started off fine, but there's one guy here who is a bit judgmental. I ordered the beef stew soup and you can choose between noodle or bread, but I wanted both, so I order a side of bread. The guy kept saying are you sure? Yes, I am sure, I want to have both noodles and bread. Totally felt the judging here and felt like a fat ass, but whatever I brushed and laughed it off. Then while I was eating my meal, he kept coming over to check on me and see if I was eating all my food, then kept saying see it's a lot. YES I KNOW IT'S A LOT OF FOOD. Finally, I asked for to-go containers, AGAIN he reiterates that it was a lot of food. He made me feel like I ordered too much, but who cares I'm paying!?! And, I'm not being wasteful because I'm taking whatever I don't eat home. Ugh, overall the food was good, but the awkwardness of the situation was a complete downer.

I believe the intention was for this place to be called 'No Pho King Way!' get it? But somehow the 'No' got lost ... Anyways ... this is a solid Pho joint. No deviation from that classic pho flavor we all love. The eggrolls are decent, not great, but good. The prices might be a few cents more than those hole-in-the-wall places but it's still a good value. The eggrolls aren't special and they don't serve them with enough lettuce leafs for wrapping, lame. I really like the Pho options here, for the basic Pho you choose 1-3 meats, and so on. Such a great system for choosing your soup! Wish more places did it this way. All in all a deserved 3 star experience, no more no less.

I love this place! the service is super fast and since we live right around the corner, we come here often. My husband gets the pho and I get the vermicelli with chicken. Both are great. The spring rolls are also very good. If you come here for dinner, they give u a complimentary tapioca like pudding which is very tasty. The pricing is also very reasonable.

The food is perfect, real Tai tea boba! the only problem I have is there is one particular worker who is infuriating to try and take a phone order or deal with in person. He's short tempered, doesn't understand english well." And if he doesn't understand you he will loose his temper quickly and continue to say "I don't understand, what?! What?! Speak English!!!" Gets mad and starts to curse under his breath. Sadly I've had this issue multiple times with him in person and on the phone so patience is a must. but everyone else is very nice generally and the food is too good to let one grumpy person ruin it for me.

Wow for a South of SoCal Pho Restaurant, the prices are great and the food is plentiful! It was a hot day, but I haven't had pho for a while since I moved down here. Decided to give this place a try! I ordered the Prince bowl which includes ALL meats and is their "medium" sized Pho Dac Biet (Special pho with one of each meat). There was tons of pho noodles, the meat was tender, and the broth was tasty. I am so glad I found a place that emulates the similar pho found back in Westminster. They have all the condiments a Vietnamese girl could ask for (vinegar soaked onions and LIMES upon LIMES upon LIMES)! You can also buy their Pho King Way bowls in the small (Princess) and Large (King) size. They also have mi xao (lo mein) in crispy and non-crispy style as well as a rice dish! Definitely trying it the next time I am there. And btw...their Thai tea is DELICIOUS! I think they do it almost better than this authentic Thai joint we go to...almost, and that's quite impressive. Lastly, I love their shirts that read "How may I Pho King help you?" So quirky for a pho restaurant! I am definitely coming back for more!

I've been going here for a few months now and I truly enjoy their pho! Amazing food. There is an employee there who I have recently ordered from and (brushed off the first time) that he was impatient and literally threw a lil tiff because I didn't know how to pronounce a certain item on the menu. I thought he was joking at first. Then I proceeded to order the rest of my dinner and he threw the pen on the table and then slammed the stapler with my receipt. That's when I lost it and gave him a piece of my mind about customer service. Needless to say. I wanted to reach behind the counter and ring his lil neck! What an A hole. I think you all know this lil skinny man I'm talking about. Change your name to pho king ruuuuuude!

I'm down here in Mission Viejo visiting my cousins and I was craving some Pho and this place is down the street so I gave it a try.. The food was good I got the standard Pho with three meats very tasty and what I would expect when I eat a bowl of Pho only bad thing I can say about this place is one of the workers in front of the cash register seemed to really have a bad attitude and had an angry look on his face I'm surprised he still has a job there that kind of attitude is unacceptable in a customer service type job in my opinion but other than that the food was good that is all.

LOVE this place! Late hours a definite plus... late for mission viejo of course. I usually get the tofu pho and their stir fry shrimp is amazing. Soft egg noodles are the best ones. Fast and friendly service too.

Pho King Way sits on a throne of golden rice noodles, wearing the bejeweled diadem of royal deliciousness. The age old mysteries: What is the meaning of life? Where do we go when we die? Does God really exist? are all answered in the moments of thoughtless bliss while dining in Pho Kings heavenly realms of nourishment, floating on a nimbused cloud high above the Gateway Center's suburban mundanity. ok.... so i like the place. for me its all about customer service and these guys are the radiant stars amidst the dark night of a forgotten virtue. Jolly, helpful, and always patient with my mangled pronunciations of those alien Vietnamese words. This place is an authentic slice of culture and tradition. i believe it is family owned and operated which appeals to my own familial sensibilities and creates a feeling of satisfaction and economic justice having chosen to support them rather than the countless, faceless, corporate chain restaurants. As far as the food goes i am far from a Pho expert, but i know that i like it, and the portions are generous. Oh, and the Vietnamese Ice Coffee is like a brown silk mud bath filled with sultry nymphs, for your mouth.

This place is just Pho King okay. The pho is okay, and the stir fry is just okay. Honestly the only reason I come here because it is close to work and it's quick and easy. The staff is friendly and quick to seat and serve, but slow to bring the bill. BEWARE if you are allergic or sensitive to MSG, they use generous amounts of the flavor enhancer.

I eat Pho 3 or 4 times per month. I was not impressed with the quality of the food. Fast service, but the Pho broth had little flavor, the meat balls did not taste fresh and the Basil and Jalapeños looks like they had been sitting for awhile.

Well I thought the service was great! I went at noon, it was very busy, but we were seated fast. Our drinks were brought quick, we had our awesome pho and sides in less than 10 minutes and all the while, our server didnt speak the best english, but gave smiles and tried his best to make suggestions. Yes they rush and dont easily communicate with you, but they try and the foods fresh and taste so good! Loved the thai tea!! I live far, but Ill definetly be back here soon.

Mediocre pho- not bad, not great. I have had better. Service- the guy with a mustache was so rude!!! He brought our pho bowls. He should be fired because he is bad for business. He rolled his eyes when I told him which bowl belonged to which person. Then when I was trying to ask him where our egg rolls were (40 mins after we ordered them), he just yelled at me saying that he was so busy. It is not hard to be courteous. Mustache man should not be allowed to work with that kind of an attitude. 1 star for food. 1 star for employees other than the mustache man.

I didn't make it so far as to even try the food. I got there at 10:45, when they were supposed to open at 10:30. The guy got irritated at me for coming in, even though the door was open and they were technically open for business. I asked him what time they open, and he snarled "whenever the kitchen is ready." These guys are the rudest a-holes I ever encountered at a restaurant.

I am not familiar with Vietnamese food but I loved it. I had the princess bowl with round steak. The broth was very tasty and was served with fresh basil, beansprouts, lime and Jalapeños. My husband had chicken noodle which he enjoyed. They brought complimentary dessert of tapioca. All in all a great value lunch.

Horrible service, dirty dishes, broth sucks....yeah. Came in one night and it took the waiters 15 minutes to get our drink order. They got it wrong but took off so fast after dropping off the drinks that we couldn't tell them it was wrong so we just kept the incorrect drinks. Then they came around about another 15 minutes later and took our order. When we received our pho the broth was horrible. We had a dirty dish and got yelled at when we asked for a new/clean one..geez it's not my fault there was still noodles on the dish that was supposed to be clean. The waiters here were all so rude. I definitely won't be back.

Absolutely horribly terribly bad pho. It was like hot water with fish sauce and pho vegetables. No pho flavor, just fish sauce. Why the hail would they put fish sauce in pho? I loaded it down with two plates of veggies and a massive dose of rooster sauce, but I still couldn't finish the bowl because the stink of fish sauce was so dominant in the absence of any other broth flavoring. The broken rice plate with grilled shrimp was not nearly as bad as the pho. The decor was good, for a pho restaurant. On the upside, I didn't get food poisoning.

I eat here about once a week. They have my favorite spring rolls and peanut sauce. Almost always order the bun with fried tofu. The XL pho is huge! So I get the prince bowl. Super inexpensive for the quality and portion size. The service is fast and the staff can be really funny. Read the back of their shirts.

it's always puzzling and concerning to see an establishment where yelpers have such a love/hate relationship with this place. people give this place way too much credit for the name. in fact, i chose to stay away from this place for the past 2 years precisely because of the name. the name isn't punny, it's really quite lame. let me promise you now that i will not use the restaurant name to get a cheap laugh out of you. so why such extremes between 5 and 1 star reviews? everyone who gave this place 5 stars have no clue what good pho tastes like and everyone who gave this place 1 star is usually pissed off about one thing that irked them so they had to based their entire experience on that one hang-up. i actually found the decor quite decent. the majority of the service staff were friendly except as others have mentioned, the "guy with the mustache". he's a skinny short vietnamese guy with poor english. i encountered this first hand when i mentioned to him that my chopsticks holder no longer had any more sauce dishes and asked him to please fill it so that i can use one. he pointed to the holder on the adjacent table and said "get from here." OKAY! you know what? there is a couple sitting at the other table and i'm not going to be the one to disturb what appears to be a courting ritual happening over there. i figured, since the guy with the mustache was the rude waiter everyone's been writing about, he can be the cock blocker and prevent them from consummating on this cold and rainy evening because it sure wasn't going to be me! he eventually got 2 from the other table and set it on my table. i chuckled having read about this guys from other reviews. i ordered the pho king way XL bowl and the coffee with condensed milk. this bowl contains all meats, it's equivalent to getting the "special bowl" at most pho restaurants (usually known as No. 1 large) everything was mediocre but there were 4 things blatantly wrong. unlike what others have mentioned about the soup being too salty or too bland (yeah, a hair bland), the main issues i had did not have anything to do with soup quality. since most people in mission viejo probably don't eat tripe, tendon or brisket, let me just say that you've been spared. if you can, please continue to stay away from those choices at this place. the bad: 1. they ran out of basil and mint leaves so my vege tray only had lime, sprouts and not-very-spicy jalapenos at 6pm thursday evening. what pho place do you know runs out of this stuff?!?! it's like a chinese restaurant running out of soy sauce. the waiter noted this but that's still not cool. 2. the rare steak was sliced a hair thicker but that's really not the main issue. the major hang-up i had with it was how they prepared their brisket. the sliced brisket usually contains a bit of fat but does not usually contain extra chewy connective tissue. usually, that part is removed. they did not do this here. there was this very very chewy ligament(like a yellow rubber band) that was attached which i could have choked on had i not pre-removed it before taking a bite. this was quite disgusting since you have to now wonder, "did they perform the necessary procedures needed to prepare their meats?" they give you very little tendon and the tripe was anemic..not flavorful at all. 3. the noodle is really where i had the biggest gripe. it tastes like it's not fully cooked. it was not smooth, shiny and soft but flaky and really al dente. for those of you who like al dente noodles, there are plenty of italian restaurants to choose from. pho noodles should not be under cooked and flaky. in fact, it should be almost fully cooked when they put it in the bottom of the bowl just before they pour the hot broth over it to finish the cooking process. i even gave it an extra few minutes for the broth to soften up everything. noodle still raw as hell. the acceptable: 4. the coffee with condensed milk was okay on taste. when they bring it out to you and it's already in a cold glass with ice, it means that it was either pre-made or was made from an instant drink mix. normally, it should be percolating for 5 to 10 minutes into a coffee cup with condensed milk and you pour it into a tall glass of ice. not here! and the nerve to charge $2.50 for that! the good: decor, ambience and most of the waiting staff not counting the rude guy with mustache and they take discover credit card normally, i probably would have given this place another try but seeing how poorly the meats are sliced and prepared, corner-cutting measures as exemplified by the coffee drink and the inexcusable under-cooked noodles (which is a key ingredient in pho), there's just no way i can return. i didn't give this place 1 star because after dealing with all of above mentioned, i still managed to consume 80% of the food. i just left a good portion of the noodles and some of the brisket containing chewy crap as it was just grossing me out.

My first experience with this place was ok. Not anything spectacular, but the staff was nice. second experience ruined this place for me. We ordered a lunch for our staff meeting from this place today. I ordered beef stew... but for some reason got some beef chao fun looking dish instead. Ok, whatever, I'll try it. Oh my goodness, it was DRENCHED in soy sauce, for a stir fry dish, the soy sauce was dripping off the plate. As much as I tried to eat it, it was so salty that I couldn't bare it. I took the dish home and tried to savie it by draining out all the soy sauce, and put hot water in it in attempt to eat some soy sauce soup.. but it was still too salty to bare. To top all of it off, the chopsticks gave me micro splinters that I can't take out. My thumb is swelling up at the moment, which reminded me I needed to write a review.

  • Reina D.

Loved the Pho! I see that some of the reviews said the broth was just "ok" ("not very flavorful"), but I disagree!! I loved the flavor of the Pho broth, in fact, I think this might be the only Pho broth that I ate to the last drop! (I usually eat up the noodles and bean sprouts, and leave most of the broth behind, but not this time!). I also ordered the shrimp/pork spring roll (rice paper wrapped/not fried) but they were not as good as I had hoped (I've had better). Overall, I'm a fan of the Pho, and the staff is super friendly, attentive, and I will definitely be back to experience more of the Pho King way! (ha ha - name is so funny). I still want to try their rice plates with meats, and I expect I will be swinging by about once a week for my Pho King fix!

What happened Pho King Way??? You reopened with a bang but has slowly deteriorated since then. I have been coming here consistently twice a month and your quality has progressively gone down for these reasons: 1) Your sliced meat for pho is way too thick, especially the rare steak and brisket. Meat quality has gone down. My jaw gets soar from chewing on your beef jerky. 2) The noodles are too soft because of overcooking and you add too much noodle. A bowl of pho has to be well balanced in portion between the broth, noodles and meat. Too much of one ingredient makes pho unappetizing. 3) Your broth is now bland. 4) Generally most of your employees are courteous except for one bad apple, the guy with a mustache that looks like a rat and has long parted hair. He is rude and walks around with an attitude. Pho King Way at one point had the best pho south of Irvine but no longer. I can't eat your substandard pho anymore.

When I first started going here it was pretty awesome. They played cool music, waiters were really nice. They actually gave us more lime when we asked for it and didn't give us any grief. But every time I keep on going the service keeps on getting worse and worse. There are a few waiters that are good but most of them or horrible. They are not attentive at all and it is so hard to get our point across of what we want!!!! This honestly is not worth it any more.

Love love their Ban! Tender meat and a nice blend of fresh-tasting ingredients. Perfect for a warm week night. Very low key restaurant with super friendly staff. The food is good, the prices are good, and they throw in a free dessert. I'd suggest to management to invest in a better kitchen fan / vent - the restaurant tends to get overly filled with kitchen aromas.

The chicken noodle soup that I order here is decent because you get to customize it yourself with a bunch of sides (jalapeno, lime, chili sauce, etc) but the service is subpar. Actually, the last time I left pretty irritated. They had basically tried to blame their mistake on me and had me second guessing whether or not I had called my order in to the wrong number. Turns out they had given my order to someone else but instead told me that I had never called. The girl who took my order looked me in the face and told me they had received no telephone orders. I later asked her, "wasn't it you who I spoke with?" and she said "...yes." I placed the order over the phone because I was in a huge hurry to get back to the office so the fact that I had to sit there and wait for the order to be made again after I had called and they said "10 minutes" was really irritating. I thought that because of their mistake and also because of them trying to blame me and say I hadn't called that they would've at least given me a discount or comped my meal for my inconvenience. But instead the guy muttered a "sorry" under his breath and charged me the full amount. Just based on service I don't know if I'll go back. I do not like when people can't own up to their mistakes. Don't blame it on the customer!

Been here several times over the last six months. Very consistent with fast friendly service and generous portions. My favorite is Pho. Regardless of the size you order, it comes full of great ingredients. I 'm going back for more. Prices are decent for value received. Found only one menu choice over $10.

In south orange county, I've been to Ann's Pho and Terkiyaki in SJC, and Pho the Bowl in LN, and Healthy and Tasty in LH... and Pho King Way is the best out of all of them. Very yummy and I like how you can choose the meats. Makes the ordering easy! When I need my pho fix, I definitely come here!

Bad service, not recommended. I ordered a noodle soup to go weeks ago and it was missing the meat balls. I did not find out until I got home. It is 30 minutes drive from my house so I did not bother with it. Today, I went back and ordered noodle soup with 3 items of meat. When I got home I found that there was no meat at all, only noodle, soup, and beansprouts. I called the restaurant and told them that and the person who answered the phone sounded rude and mean. He did not apologize and said come back and get the meat and slammed the phone. I am very disappointed with the service and the pool attitude.

+I still can't believe they can get away with the name. Then again, judging by the looks of the owners, I don't know if they get the connotation. +I eat a lot of Pho, but I'm really not picky at all about it. I just care that there's no funky taste and th

I was recommended and I would recommend. Clean, close to traditional, although I am curious who makes the noodles for the Pho Ga as they are more flat than most thin noodle Pho. Good and flavorful value.

BF wanted some pho since it was a cold night and he was feeling a little under the weather. I had been craving the vermicelli stuff so it was a perfect choice. Place wasn't really busy, probably because it was a Sunday night. Anyways, we waited to be seated for a couple minutes but no one saw us so we started walking towards a table. An older man handed us some menu then proceeded to ignore us for about 10 minutes. When we finally waved him down, he apologized because he had no seen us sitting there. This is the guy that handed us the menu, and it's not like the place was huge or crowded either. Anyways, food arrived quickly after we ordered but it was just okay. At least the veggies in my vermicelli looked fresh, but the pho could use some help. Not with more MSG either. Oh yeah, no one wanted to give us our check, so BF went up to pay. He needed a pen to sign his credit receipt so the guy just pointed at the counter, then got really irritated that he had to get the pen to hand to BF. No tip and no return service for sure. This place sucks.

The wife and I tried this restaurant about a week ago. Neither of us were familiar with Vietnamese cuisine, so we thought it would be a good experience. The first thing I noticed was the fountain drinks were only $1.75 with refills, I don't know of any restaurant that sells drinks at that price. My wife ordered the large Ph Bò (Soup) with brisket, steak and egg noodles (she doesn't like rice noodles). She also ordered sprouts on the side. Her order came with the rice noodles, but the waiter apologized and retrieved a bowl with egg noodles. She transferred the meat into the egg noodle bowl and started to eat. I think the main problems she had was figuring out how to eat with the spoon and chopsticks (the meat comes in large chunks and the noodles are long) and she said the broth was bland. The waiter suggested adding some of the sauces on the table to the broth. I ordered the Cánh Gà Chiên (Fried Chicken Wings) which comes with a soy and garlic sauce. The sauce went really well with the wings and the appetizer was very good. I ordered the Com Chien Duong Chau (Fried Rice with shrimp and Chinese sausage). The cilantro in the fried rice gave it an interesting kick and the only real disappointment was the meal only came with 3 shrimp. There was a good amount of the sausage. The meal was finished off with some free tapioca pudding (wife hates tapioca and I found it to be too runny) and the 20% discount for the opening. I think we will be back, my wife will probably try a different dish and maybe the garlic noodle appetizer.

Just had lunch there for the first time. Great food and great service. They accommodated us every way and were very nice and friendly. We ended lunch with a warm tapioca pudding. We will definitely come back.

Possibly one of the most frustrating dining experiences we've had in a LONG time. But it was a frustration akin to resignation - the truth: This is a Vietnamese restaurant and you can't ever expect service to be great. It would be fair to say, that we would not put up with this kind of service in any Western food restaurant. We were amused by the name and wondered how they got it past whatever committees they had to get it past so we paid a visit being that everything was discounted for their grand opening. There were three of us so we ordered three things. Appetizers came out alright - spring rolls and egg rolls. The disaster happened when it came time for entrees. We should have known when they set the tiniest place of bean sprouts and Thai basil in front of us. My brother had ordered a large bowl of pho, customized as they encourage you to do but hubby had the Pho King Way bowl so there was no way that little plate made sense. First up was my plate of food, a rice plate. If a plate of food could be called anorexic, it would be this one. My shrimp were about an inch big...I got three. Anyway, I politely waited for hubby and brother to get their noodles before I started in on my food. Finally the server came out with a bowl of regular pho and tried to give it to hubby. It was nowhere near what brother or hubby ordered. We told him we ordered the Pho King Way bowl. He ran off, and in about 10 minutes, we got the Pho King way bowl. So then I requested another plate of bean sprouts and the server looked down at the one we had and indicated we had one already. I said "No, but we have TWO pho's." "You do?" "Yes...my brother ordered the pho with X, X and X meats. That guy who took our order wrote it all down and repeated it to us." "Oh. (still disbelievingly)" Walks away... It took another trip from our server and another 10 minutes to produce my brother's pho. After that, we never saw another server again (avoided eye contact with us) until we flagged them down for the check. Needless to say, they did not get much tip from us. Why? Because not once did anyone apologize for this fiasco. Pho-get this place, I'm going elsewhere. One star for the name and another for the average food.

    (2)
  • L G.

Finally returned. Service was better...food was served at the same time. Pho was good with a better price than other establishments in the area. The rice entrees had good portions with definite improvement. Will definitely be frequenting this place vs. just for convenience.

Must say that the owner Alex has done a great job getting the restaurant open and the Pho in my opinion has actually gotten better. If u ever come ask for Alex, and he will do everything to make sure u enjoy every dish u order. Alex is a genuine guy who is truly passionate about what he does and it's awesome to see this type of business owner here in Mission Viejo. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food with a laid back environment. Try the fresh handmade spring rolls!!

After a year and a half of wanting to try Pho King Way, mostly because of the name, I went! Typical Pho place, nothing too fancy but I would definitely go again. When ordering pho, they gave you a choice of which meats you want to add. Since I'm not the biggest red meat eater I had no idea what to pick so I asked our waiter & he gave suggestions which ended up being pretty tasty. He was very helpful & I asked if he was the owner & he said yes why what's wrong? It's great that he cares what his customers think about the food. Pho King Way was closed for about 8 months due to a kitchen fire but they came back strong. Cute little location in a nice shopping complex near a Chase bank & Starbucks. Tip: The Thai iced tea was good but I wasn't too fond of the boba's. I would stick getting boba at a tea place. I'd give Pho King 3 1/2 stars.

As my wife and I sat there waiting for our food, we had high hopes. We haven't found a good pho place yet in the area and we didn't feel like driving to Irvine for the best pho. Food came out and that all went away. There was really nothing that I or my wife had that would ever bring us back to this establishment. The service wad good which is the only reason for a 2 star review our else or would be a 1 star. Irvine here we come...

This place is very good for South OC. It's got authentic flavors at reasonable prices. Most pleasant surprise about this place is the great service. I guess my expectations were low, but they have really nice people working here. It's a little bit of Little Saigon in Mission Viejo.

We are crazy about Vietnamese food, and go out for it at least every other week. We were so pleased the first 6-8 times we ate here. As the months have passed, we've noticed that the service isn't very good anymore; food is brought out one at a time, sometimes the first person at the table gets theirs 10 or more minutes before the last. And, the serving sizes are shrinking. I usually order Bun. Lately I've had the Lemongrass Chicken and last night the onions outnumbered the chicken exponentially. My son had the shrimp and chicken plate, and he usually gets 4-5 shrimp. Last night, he got 3. We were told by the server that it's a rule: if you order all shrimp, you get 8. If you order shrimp and chicken, you get 3 shrimp. Not happy. The crazy thing is, this place gets busier all the time and we've been less and less satisfied as we've noticed that now the place is quite successful, they don't feel they have to serve the quality we got the first few months. We are looking elsewhere next week.

All name jokes aside... Pretty pho king delicious!! My husband and I stopped on our way back to San Diego after arriving at LAX from a whirlwind trip to the East Coast. We were tired, slightly jet-lagged, and cranky about having to go to work and school the next morning. Hot, savory, comforting soup was right up our alley...and my husband was excited about this place, which is located near his work and has become a favorite among him and his co-workers. Service: Good, efficient! Food was out pretty quickly and our water was refilled often. Decor: Charming and casual. Nice, large dining space. Eggrolls: YUM. Hot, crunchy, good. Period. Pho: Just what I needed! Despite the noodles being a bit over-clumped (and thus resulting in delayed gratification), they were quite tasty once I separated them. And the broth was hearty and flavorful. We were given all the right fixings...bean sprouts, limes, basil...and it was noodle goodness in my tummy. Meats: We both ordered our pho with the 1-3 types of meat option ($6.95/bowl) and chose eye round steak, brisket, and beef meatballs. All of it was great...and sans fat (I despise fatty meat in my soup). My only complaint is that I like my brisket slices to be a bit softer/more tender. However, it was all pretty great regardless. I liked the meatballs in particular. In summary, great quick meal for cheap. Would I come back? Abso-pho-king-lutely!

Took the family in today because it was cold and rainy and we were craving Pho so we decided to try out Pho King Way and we were glad we did. Growing up in N. OC and having Vietnamese friends I have had my share of good pho and this is good pho. A lot of reviews say the broth is salty or bland. I thought it was a well balanced and a flavorful broth, that we all enjoyed. We also ordered the beef fried rice which had very tasty marinated steak and a lot of it, the portion was bigger than I expected too. My wife had the house special with shrimp and brown rice. It was delicious and full of fresh veggies and tons of meat. Almost forgot, the iced Thia tea was so good, we will be back...did I mention it was so affordable too!

Been here twice (writing this in the midst of my 2nd visit). Mixed bag. No issues with service, but I'm sure that issues described In previous reviews did take place. As for myself, was always greeted promptly, order taken and food brought out quickly. Can't complain about that. As far as the food..spring rolls are great. Best I've had in comparison to other local Vietnamese restaurants (in a 5-10 mile radius)" The pho was ok. Didn't blow me away but didn't disappoint. It was what I expected it to be. If anything, the noodles to broth ratio was off (not enough broth). I had also try their Bun. This was disappointing. Bowl organization was poor. Veggies were too overwhelming. It was a mess that was lacking taste. Avoid the Bun. Other thoughts: * The menu is a bit limited in its offerings * I ordered their fresh squeezed lemonade. It tasted like they forgot it needs to include sugar. sour! They did sweeten upon request though.

We usually like to get a couple of Large Pho soups and Spring Rolls to go. It's usually fast no hassle and a great way to feed the family. Tonight the service at Pho King Way was absolutely the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant ever. When I called the order in the person on the phone was abrupt and very rude. When I got off the phone I was a little shocked at the way I was treated. Unfortunately the service gets worse. My wife went to pick up the order and she was also treated VERY poorly as well. We normally like this place but more than likely we will not return.

Got a regular bowl of pho with steak, brisket, and tripe and a side of crab and cream cheese wontons. Minus star for messing my pho order. Minus star for not having any crab bits in the "crab and cream cheese wontons. And minus star for the pho broth being so salty I had to add water to it. If you want mediocre food and a PhoKing swollen face the next day, this is the place for you.

We love love love this place and pass by a more convenient pho place because this one is simply, hands-down, the best. The broth is clean and tasty. The service is excellent- smiling, happy people that are always welcoming. AND this place is clean clean clean.

PHO KING WAY!!!!!!!! (X10) This is my first time doing review ever, but the taste of the beef broth still stay in my mouth so I decided to write a review about this place. I went to visit my friends in Mission Viejo on Friday and my friends were craving for a bowl of Pho, since I came from Westminster there're a lot of Pho places so I don't really want to eat Pho but MAN I was wrong. The Pho here is sooooooooo gooooood!!!! Better than most of the places I had eaten. That is one thing but the service here is superb, the guy who took my order was really attentive to my table ( I think his name is Ryan), he made sure we were doing fine and treat us like "royalty" while checking on other tables. Overall I would drive all the way there just to have a PHOKING AWESOME bowl of pho and super friendly staff Thank you Ryan!!

This was my wife and I's first time here. Yeah, the name is 'interesting' for sure, but the food we had was quite good, and we've been to the pho restaurants in Westminster. They were very friendly, the place was very clean (including the restrooms) and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. All in all, this is a nice place to eat Vietnamese-style food in Mission Viejo.

I saw this place while driving home one day. I saw the sign and said "hee hee! no pho king way!!!!" I'm not going to lie, I came to this place because of the name and I wanted to check into Facebook while I was here. For the record, this is not the best Vietnamese food BUT it's definitely the best I have had so far in SOUTH OC. When I don't feel like driving up to Westminster, this place will serve the craving. My friend ordered the pho and I was surprised. I expected the broth to be bland, but it had a lot of flavor! I ordered the vermicelli with grilled pork and shrimp. The shrimp was a little overcooked but the portions were huge. Another friend ordered the house special - soft noodle stir fry with chicken, beef, and shrimp. This was yummy, the sauce was good. After we were done, everyone in the restaurant was given dessert at no extra charge! Mung bean/tapioca w/ coconut milk. Delish! Other than the annoying teens that were talking about how pho was from the country of "Thai", I had a very pleasant experience here. The service was great and the food satisfied my craving. I'll be back.

Food was mediocre and my pho smelled horrible. Couldn't eat it.. The service was absolutely diabolical. They had what seemed like a busboy serving us, who couldn't speak English and shook his head in anger when we had trouble communicating with him. Even after they sent in backup to take care of us, it wasn't a good dining experience. This is south OC, more dining options than you can imagine, nd you only get one chance for a first impression. I won't be back.

  • Chi L.

I had the same experience here as others on the review. Didn't even get a chance to eat the food. My friend and I were passing by the mall and was intrigued by the name of the restaurant. It was 10:45 am on a Saturday. The door was open, so we attempted to walk in...only to be shooed away by the waiter. He just pointed to the door at us. Didn't have the courtesy to say what time they were open or to come back later. I wanted to wait, but my friend was so put off by the attitude that we went to the nearby rubio instead.

Catchy name, average pho. I think most everyone that comes here for the first time, comes here because of the name. You see the name and you can't help it but laugh or at least get a silly grin on your face. I ordered my usual... Pho Tai. Just like what you might expect for a place that has catchy name, your going to mediocre food and service. Nothing bad, but nothing outstanding either. Service is a little slow, but I am willing to cut them a little slack because they are relatively new. The real reason for getting the 3 stars is because they quality of meat in my Pho Tai was... well just a 3 star. A little tough and cuts of meat are just average. Its nice to see a Pho place in Mission Viejo, but there are plenty of other places a few minutes away that offer better Pho.

  • Jeramee M.

You won't find too many pho places in South County that pleasures you with a friendly service, a clean atmosphere, good-portioned, and easy on the wallet delicious meal! For $6-$7, you will have a pretty decent-sized bowl of pho with your choice of up to 3 meats. Now, that's an excellent deal! Now get outta that sofa and get some Pho King pho!

There's only a few asian food places in Mission Viejo, and this one is like 5 minutes away from my house so I come here often. It is better than hole-in-the-wall places in Westminster? No, of course not, and I don't think it tries to be. It caters to a totally different audience. It's for people who needs a quick fix during the weekdays after work, or on the move; and during the weekend, you can take that hour drive to those asian places and truly satisfy your cravings.

This place is great. The pho is absolutely perfect. The only offbeat thing is their size naming system. A regular sized bowl is called a "princess bowl" This may deter guys from ordering it. Their chicken wings are very good. The coup de grace is their amazing Vietnamese coffee. Ask them to put the chocolate creamer in there with the condensed milk. Soooo good.

This is a great pho restaurant. They had fire in the kitchen recently but they will be open again soon. At least I hope they will be. I stumbled upon this place one day. I was surprised to see a pho restaurant this far south in OC since we live in Ladera. The pho is great- home style flavor. The spring rolls are fresh. I would come back to try other dishes.

Is there a new pho place in Mission Viejo? Yes, Pho King Way! Saw the grand opening of this place so I decided to check it out while they had their grand opening 20% off deal going on. I got a regular pho with rare steak, brisket, and meat balls and shared spring rolls with my friend. The portion of the pho was a lot for a regular. I couldn't even finish half of it and they gave a lot of meat. The broth was flavorful, meat was good, but the noodles were a little too soft for my liking. An order of spring rolls came with 2 spring rolls. The size of the spring rolls were on the bigger side, but it was overly stuffed with noodles which I didn't care for. The sauce for the spring rolls were pretty good here. Overall, service was excellent and pho broth was good. When I'm having a craving for pho, I will def come back here again.

So I heard through the grapevine that a new Pho place in MV has opened up. It's pretty much within walking distance from my parents house at the corner of Alicia and Jeronimo. So I'm thinking "great, finally a pho restaurant in MV. It's about time!" So I randomly stop by here on a Wednesday night. It wasn't all that busy, but all the apparent ingredients for a proper pho restaurant was in place. The greasy spoon napkin dispenser with the quintessential container for spoons, chopsticks, and mini dipping trays, along with all the sauces you will ever need for your proper vietnamese dining experience. Instrumental versions of french classic tunes were playing in the background made for that bolsa-ish feel. If the place was a bit dirtier, and more hole-in-the-wall-ish, you'd feel like you're smack in the middle of Bolsa. Now on to the food. I started with an order of spring rolls. Now most spring rolls you get from a vietnamese restaurant are pretty standard. This place was no different with the ingredients. However, I think they use a slightly thicker style rice paper, or they doublewrap their rolls. I felt it was too much and too chewy. The peanut sauce was pretty standard, I've definitely had better. Always add the chili garlic sauce to give it a kick. Overall, the spring rolls were not bad, and I'd order it again. I ordered the Pho Tai Chin bowl, which consists of Rare steak and well doen trimmed brisket. When the bowl arrived, I tasted the broth almost immediately. The broth definitely had flavor, although just barely slightly on the light side. Perhaps less water, or boil the soup longer? The problem(if you want to call it a problem) is easily masked with a good portion of hoisin sauce and sriracha(rooster sauce). The meats inside were okay, perhaps a bit on the chewy side. Great if you like chewy meat in your pho. I tend to gauge my bowl of pho on two things. The tenderness of the beef cuts, as well as how much sauce I do not need to add to the bowl. Unfortunately this pho doesn't meet my meticulous requirements to give it 4-5 stars, being a vietnamese guy with high expectations. I do want to try their grilled rice dishes though. But if you expect me to be less of a critic, this place is pretty solid for the average pho getter, especially in south OC. I still think Thanh Binh in LF is better, but for now, this is the best pho you can get in MV(perhaps the ONLY place you can get pho in MV). Service was great which is essential to catering to the South OC crowd. 3.5 stars.

This is the best pho I have found in Orange County! I love the rare beef bowl, it's all I ever get. Their cheese wontons are amazing as well!! As a note - it's always really busy and they are always understaffed so just be prepared for that. It's usually a bit of a wait. I would definitely recommend calling your order in.

First time at Pho King today. We had the Ox tail and the Bai... Oh I am not even going to try to spell it. Everything was tasty, although the meat dish could have a little more meat in it (see photos) Wife and I split the two dishes. We are PhoKing full... No left overs though, except for vermicelli noodles. Will we go back? Yes probably when in the mood for noodles. But at $11 a person, I think I can fill up with something cheaper... Like say Crying Tiger from Thai Garden. Sorry guys... It was good but not outstanding

I really used to like this place but on my last visit I was a little disappointed. The service was good at first but when the place started to get crowded our table was pretty much ignored by the staff. To drink I got their jasmine iced tea which was ok. My Aunt got the hot tea. I tasted some of her tea and some how it was a lot better then mine. It just had more flavor, maybe the iced tea is watered down. To eat I ordered their special kobe beef pho. My Mom got some egg rolls to start. I tried half of one. It tasted really weird like it had an off fishy taste and the dipping sauce was sweet which didn't help the egg roll at all. When my pho came I was sad to find out that their broth isn't as good as it used to be. I don't know what happened, but it's just kinda bland now. I added chili paste, but it didn't help much. The beef was good though and so were the noodles and veggies. Sad that the broth didn't stack up. I also tried my brother's beef fried rice. It was really good, I finished his rice when he was done. So overall this place is just ok.

Absolutely great pho! The broth is tasty and they give you plenty of meat. Only downside is the place is packed after 6pm and the service is haphazard.

My favorite place to get pho! This is the only pho place I love. My favorite is the vegetarian pho with fried tofu. I'm sad they changed their noodles, I liked the old ones better. The restaurant itself is always a little messy, and the service is pushy. They close at 930 but If you call at 9:03 for a to-go order, forget it. They won't answer. They're Unorganized and a little rude, but the food is amazing. I also wish they didn't play rap on the radio in there.... Kinda kills the ambiance. Still my favorite bowl of soup, Makes me want a bowl now!

This place is ok, I've had better, but in terms of south OC, it'll do. Do not expect good customer service, the waiters here are usually pretty distant and non-attentive. I chalk it up to a cultural difference. I always get the vegetarian pho, which might be why it's just ok. I've found it is hard for Vietnamese places to make an awesome vegetable broth. Usually the broth tastes very watered down, this place is no exception. But with the addition of fresh cilantro, basil and onion, the flavor isn't too bland.

First time eating phö :) Decent price for amazing food!! My friend and I waited almost nothing! I will definitely come back! Too phö king good. See what I did there hehe. It was really busy for a Sunday night but it was ok because we were seated fast and attended fast too!

5 star for their food and service yesterday! A gentleman helped us even though he was probably on his lunch break. I just stick to the regular bowl with beef brisket and a viet iced coffee. Soup broth is a little salty but tastes much better with sriracha and the hoisen sauce. Can't wait to come back!

I love the play on words. Came here last Friday for lunch and our group was seated quickly. We ordered some egg rolls to share and I got the regular pho with steak and brisket. The food came out fairly quickly. I'm glad we beat the lunch rush because once we got out our food, the whole restaurant was packed and there was a line forming outside. The pho was pretty standard. They did give you a good amount of meat which was nice and the pricing was not bad. Would definitely recommend this place for lunch if you're in the mission viejo area.

So I go in there yesterday. I am 5'5, Caucasian, and was wearing a babydoll dress. I have a little bit of a pooch belly, but it's small and I do work out all the time. I go in to get take out and am reviewing their menu, which is a little scattered. So I ask the waiter '"where are the spring rolls on here?" He laughs at me (like I am stupid) and points to the picture of spring rolls. I am looking for the list, not the picture. So I order, and he asks me "how far along are you". I have no idea what he is talking about because no one has every asked me that before. So I look at him blankly as I think I know what he is inferring to....and "he says your pregnant right". Let me be clear, I do not look pregnant! They need to rename this place Pho King Moron.

I love the Pha Ga here! They use good white chicken and fresh ingredients.

The beef bowls deserve 6 stars. The first time I came here I didn't have a good experience. The service was not good and the food was alright. I recently went back and am so happy that I did. I got a 4 item beef bowl. Damn, it was good. I could only eat half and took the rest home (it's a good amount of food). I ate the rest for lunch the next day and it was great. This will be my place to go when I need comfort food or if I'm feeling under the weather. *tip for taking leftover soup* ask for 2 to-go containers and put the noodles in one and the broth in the other. The noodles will dissolve if they are in the same container. It takes patience to empty the contents separately but it's worth it.

Best Pho place in Orange County!! The place is pretty clean, and the service is actually pretty good compared to other pho places. The chicken pho is delicious as long as they remember the roasted garlic. Haven't had anything there that we don't like yet... Everything is great from the beef, veggie and chicken Pho to Bun, Spring Rolls (fried and fresh), Rice w/Grilled Pork dish or the filet. There was the one time I got food poisoning from the Vietnamese Spring rolls... it was either the shrimp or pork that made me sick... But in all the times we've eaten there I'm the only one that's gotten sick and it was once. Typically, we eat there 1-2 times every couple weeks give or take...even during hot weather, pho is delish! Love it to cure colds, flu, and hangovers too!

Was feeling a tad under the weather and their Pho Ga hit the spot! My throat felt better almost immediately! My kids demolished the egg rolls. I loved the grilled pork spring rolls -- and we all loved the chicken fried rice. Service was fast, food was inexpensive and we loved it. Will definitely be back!

  • Vinh N.

Good food when there is not much other options around. The guys there are quick and they do try to make the customers happy. Spring rolls and rice dishes are good. The pho should be the star, but its not. its good, just not great. Broth alittle too dark and too much salt and MSG, they are stingy with the meat.

  • Chelle P.

We were really hoping to love it but its ok. A couple exits down we can go back to our go-to Vietnamese spot. Just hoping to like a place a little closer to home. Decent food. We tried their vermicelli and pho. The vermicelli was good, the eggrolls I didn't like. The Pho broth actually tastes good but it's so oily that I can't. And I'm not a super health conscious picky eater. It's that oily. I've been to plenty of places in Westminster and nothing this oily. And they can close doors or windows or whatever the access point is, to keep flies out.

Great, fun, playful name! 'But then it's mediocre from there... "Water, s'il vous plait?... 'Luke warm. 8/ Since the countdown continues for my next big production, "Back to da' Bay," (SF Bay Area) I figured I should start knocking out some of the places checked on my long, never-ending list under "Bookmarked." 'And today was the "Pho King Way" to go! (But the idea was more exciting than the actual visit... 'Personally, I think, the name was the compelling incentive to try this place more than anything else.) True story. Store Front - yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-… 'Walked in, middle of the afternoon, a few occupied tables... 'Nice space, clean. Photo - yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-… Ordered a cafe sua da and in the usual fast-food fashion as I commonly find in most Vietnamese restaurants today, pre-made batches sitting in a tub next to the barrel sized rice cooker in the back... (Sigh) I really appreciate the classic, slow drip personal coffee press of when cafe sua da was an art & not something that has gone the way of a Slurpee Machine... Photo - yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-… It was "alright," a bit too sweet, lacking a strong robust coffee presence... Lately, I've been craving ox tail, a very popular soup back home in Hawai'i, Portugeuse style... 'And the "Special of the Day - Ox Tail Pho." 'And it was "M'eh..." The Ox Tail Pho was rather disappointing for $10.45, more like "Ox Fail." The flavor was okay but the amount/size of the oxtail was rather lacking... It was like they took a section of ox tail and sliced it into smaller pieces, to give the appearance of "more" in the bowl. Pho'to - yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-… The basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, & lime wedges were very nice & fresh! Photo - yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-… If there wasn't such a thing as ox tail steaks, there is now, these "Pho King" guys just created it! Pho'to - yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-… Cafe Sua Da: $2.55 Ox "Fail" Pho: $10.45 Grand Total (Incl. tax + tip): $17 Receipt - yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-… As I reviewed the receipt, I noticed "Pho Saigon" in Lakewood, CA at the top... Photo - yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-… 'And by the way, which is now CLOSED. (3 Star Rating) 'Which Is what this place is... Pho Saigon - yelp.com/biz/pho-saigon-… Pho King Way Noodles & Grill isn't horrible but it's not great either... It just is. The service was luke warm, not very personable, just business as usual. With a fun name like "Pho King Way Noodles and Grill," I would've expected a bit more personality from the place... 'Not. How about something on the menu to reflect the same, "One PHO KING WAY Too Big Bowl?!..." (Serves two) No, nothing?... 'Way too much festive & fun, afraid people might think you have a personality? (Shrugs) I guess you're right. 'And the verdict: "Eh... 'Okay." I'd settle for Thanh Binh II in Lake Forest, no doubt. Thanh Binh II - yelp.com/biz/thanh-binh-… Bottom line: It's just you're average OC Vietnamese restaurant with a novelty name that is intriguing enough to get you through the door but not so much for a 2nd visit. At the end of the meal, they gave me a free complimentary dessert... I suppose it's their way of saying, "Sorry." Photo - yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-… - Aloha! Best in Orange County period. Yes, I have to agree that there should be 6 stars for this place. Last night was my first time at this place and it went as follows: A little after 9pm on a Saturday night, I took my lady out for dinner and we were greeted and welcomed by a gentleman who was in a great mood. We ordered one 1 item pho, one 2 item pho, and egg roll appetizer. We received our "Pho King" bowls (hahaha love the name!) and I was amazed with how much flavor the broth had. As I'm writing this I wish I had a "Pho King" bowl of soup now. My lady was also in amazement. Have our taste buds gone accustomed to the other local pho bowls? Because these "Pho King" bowls are dropping bombs of flavor over their competition! The chef came out and delivered the egg rolls with assurance and confidence that they are simply the best. I asked him what time they closed because there were only 4 other tables (who were there when we arrived) with guests who seemed to be wrapping it up. The chef kindly said 9pm. The egg rolls were light, crispy, and an incredibly seasoned to perfection. Reasonably priced, great service, and fantastic food. This is my go-to place for pho because it's the "Pho King" best!

I came here alone in my lunch break. I always get the same thing at pho places: Large pho tai (rare steak), meat on the side. Like most places, it took about 3 minutes to come out. I wish I took a picture of what they slapped down in front of me They had this beautifully sliced rare steak on a plate for me. I mean it was presented in a nice circular arrangement with red onions on top, and if youre like me and get your rare steak on the side for optimal rarity upon consumption, you'll UNDERSTAND that this is quality, grade-A beef for serious contenders only. BUT the next thing youd notice after quality is the outrageous quantity. You probably wouldnt know, really, if you always get your meat served INSIDE the soup, but jesus christ this place slapped down like DOUBLE, maybe TRIPLE the amount of beef I get at, say, Lotus Bistro in Newport. I saw that and was like "what the flying fuck how do they make money". Broth was nice. Noodles good quantity. But holy shit Moses has parted the Red Pho to allow safe passage of this restaurant's workers/owner to the Promised Land I shit you not. Bless them.

Very good pho place. The food is cheap but good quality. The service is a bit slow. You won't get any attention unless you flag a server. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because the place looks a bit run down.

I came here after reading the yelp reviews because we were craving pho and didn't want to drive too far, so I looked for a restaurant that looked like it'd have more authentic flavors than the other ones in the area. This place actually had pretty good food. My friend and I both got princess bowls and the eggrolls, which were all really tasty. The broth was flavorful, especially after adding the jalapenos and basil and sprouts and lime and letting it all soak. The service however, like most other reviews have said, was ATROCIOUS. We had to wave down a server to get our order taken. We saw another table on the side who wasn't as vocal as us and they waited over 20 min to get their order taken. Food came quickly, but the server also didn't get our order right - my friend ordered a vietnamese iced coffee and it never came, so when we went up to pay, we asked them to take it off the ticket. Turns out he never put it on in the first place. Food was affordable though, more expensive than some other pho places but not that bad. Came out to total of like $21 for the two phos and eggrolls. Upside of the horrible service was that we felt no need to tip well.

I am a frequent patron of this pho restaurant . Good prices on pho, and some of the most delicious broth in Orange County. Definitely my favorite pho in mv/south oc. They have great chicken wings for appetizers, egg rolls and spring rolls are also delicious. The banh mi sandwich is great, and a steal at only $3.25. The food is very fast, and very very good. Don't come here looking for great service. But do come for the pho. It's worth it.

Grabbed lunch for the company here the other week, food is good. The pho broth is better than any around in the area because they use oxtails in it. One down side of ordering to-go is that they do not offer the to-go bowls for the pho which made it somewhat hard to eat the delicious noodle soup in the regular soup containers. Other than that, when it gets cold - this would be a good soupy go to! xoxo Amy Nguyen

In Love with Pho King! This is one of the most delicious meals I've had in a long time. My fam and I were on our way to another eatery in the same shopping center but just didn't like the vibe, we then came across Pho King and instantly fell in love with the name lol so we decided to give it a try. The food was seriously out of this world! Both my husband and I totally enjoyed what we ordered. If we lived in the OC, we'd eat here weekly for sure! FOOD IS TO DIE FOR!!!!!!

No English and they can't do this and they can't do that. Everything is pre mixed so you cannot sub out or sub in items you dislike or are allergic too! Did I mention that the broken English is really broken?! We are in the states right? I have not been back since my previous review and then they had a fire and now are reopened and this certainly was not an incentive to give it a third try.

If you want good pho, this is the place. I've tried lots of establishments and this is by far my favorite. Still looking for good pho without MSG but it's not an easy task. I tend to stick to the regular beef/steak pho bowls because I'm not too keen on tendons and tripe and whatnot. But that's just my preference. Also their bahn mai (sp) sandwiches are SO good! Prices are very reasonable. Customer service is lacking a bit but the food makes up for it, I suppose, because I keep going back. My favorite place when I'm craving Vietnamese food.

Good food and have tried many things on their menu. Have been here many times. The service is very bad. They are rude and inconsiderate. They take too long to come to your table and often times get the order wrong. They don't apologize and really don't seem to care if you are happy or not. This place was once crowded and past 2 times I went, I see less and less people. You can piss people off so many times before they stop coming. The food is generally good but not worth the hassle. Many other pho places to go to, time to find another one for me.

NO PHO KING WAY will I evvaa stay away! Have you evvva had noodles that made you wanna pimp slap somebody! Well come here and bring a punching bag or someone you can't stand...just so you can slap them! THAT IS HOW GOOD THIS PLACE IS! IT is NOT fancy BUT they know what the PHO there doing in the kitchen! I have been eating PHO for a LONG time and unless you're in Little Saigon it is ALMOST NEVER GOOD! So color me SURPRISE when I ate here for lunch and LOVED IT! I went with a group of people and everyone got something different BUT NO ONE was unhappy! I'm a vermicelli noodle FREAK! I LOVE THE BIG bowls which is not unusual but it was GREAT to actually STUFF MYSELF TO THE GILLS trying to finish everything! They get packed out for lunch so you better get there early if you know better! If it is a cold rainy day get there even earlier! I PHO KING LOVE YOU!

Stopped by here and got some Pho to-go for a cold night of fishing down at the pier - quick and friendly service. Got 2 regular sized Prince bowls - one for me and one for my boyfriend - and an order of eggs rolls. It was MORE than enough food (and we had tons of Pho leftover). The broth was delicious - not too salty or overpowering. And the amount of meat in the bowl was unreal. The noodles were delicate and filling. And the eggs rolls were delicious! Definitely will come back when I'm in the area and wanting Pho.

Our very favorite food spot in all of Orange County and the best Pho anywhere. It's really our favorite place to eat. Amazing staff, very warm & friendly atmosphere. Even when this place gets hectic and busy they still manage to keep on top of everything. Treat yourself to this place if you like Pho.

Pho-king amazing. It's Pho-king cheap and parking was a pho-king breeze. But the reason they get 5-stars is their combination Pho. It was filling, cheap, and the service was curt but polite. Besides, I want their shirts that say: "How can I Pho-King Help you?"

I'm loving how reasonable the prices are, how amazing the food is (for being 5 minutes from my house instead of Westminster), and how good the broth is! I've been going here about once a week since it opened :D

This place is awesome! Could be the most authentic pho place in the Laguna Hills/ Lake Forest area. I had the Pho King Way bowl and of course it was presented in a extra large bowl. They really pack it with noodles/meat. It shares the same price as the other local pho restaurants down in the area. I would recommend this restaurant to any one of my friends and I'm thankful for my friend for introducing me to this place!

Have to give it 4 stars because always room too improve. The pho and beef stew are solid. Have to say some of the reviews on here make me laugh. People complaining on the food like the rice dish look at the name people it's a noodle house not a rice bowl place. You don't go to a freaking steak house and order chicken use your head. You can't beat this place anywhere around here portions are large the pho and beef stew is dam good prices are good.

  • Nicole B.

Moderately priced, friendly fast service. The menu has a lot of options as well. I went on a Sunday evening, it was not crowded at all. But many people started arriving around 630pm. There is plenty of seating inside and some outside as well. They also serve boba and awesome Vietnamese Coffee! The reason I give the 2 stars is for the taste of the Pho Beef Noodle Soup and the appetizer quality we ordered. I've had more flavorful pho and the beef was on the tough side, even the brisket. The Hoisin sauce at the table had a fishy taste to it, maybe it's homemade or a special brand? We ordered the appetizer combination with a little bit of everything. Nothing special, and a pretty small serving, not meant for sharing at all. If you dont' want to drive far, and need your Pho fix this is the place. But for the good stuff I guess you have to make a little more effort and leave South OC.

Definitely the best Pho restaurant in Orange County. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I have been a loyal customer for years and I can't wait for the Lake Forest location to open back up. I eat there at least twice a week and they treat you like family. A++++

I liked the Bun fairly well... they need some chopped peanuts on it though... I missed those (I asked for some but they didn't have any). My son got the Pho and like it a lot. I got egg rolls on my bun and they were some of the best I have had! (I am a little sketchy on some of the meat in vietnamese eggrolls - I am PICKY with meat!, but this was FABULOUS!). I will definitely be eating here again!

My husband and I ate here for dinner. He ordered a teryaki beef like and I had a small pho. The teryaki beef was covered with too much teryaki and not enough meat. The small pho was pretty good though. I will probably come back if I want a quick pho and it's good just to stick with the pho selection.

My wife and I are weekly customers of Pho King Way. We stopped in for a to go order tonight. They were not all that busy, but took 10 minutes to take our order, and a total of 40 minutes to get our two soups. When the order came out I asked an employee for three small plastic containers for the sauces. The guy rolled his eyes and said "really 3." I said yes 3 please. He handed me two containers. I told him that I asked for three and he rolled his eyes again and slowly got one more. I put my hand out for the container and he walked away and set it on the counter away from me making me walk down to the end of the counter and he walked away. I asked an employee standing nearby what the guys problem was and he laughed and said he's crazy. A customer sitting next to us commented that the guy seemed to be treating everyone poorly. We love the food, but due to the service will be finding a new Pho location.

finally, a Pho restaurant closer to MV and RSM, this is the best Pho around. I am the biggest critique and I know flavors. They do a good job, highly recommended. And its a clean place too, which validates the restaurants class.

I gotta say when they first opened I was thrilled. The Pho was really good. Screaming hot delicious broth. Cute decor and friendly owner. Very convenient. It's on my way home from work. However, the last couple of times I've visited I have been very disappointed. Now don't misunderstand, I love me some fish sauce. But there is a point when it's too much. And that's what was wrong. Couldn't taste the herbs and spices. It was just really salty. I really wanted to love it. I may give it another try in the future. We'll see.

I was thrilled to find a new Pho place in Mission Viejo. Perfect fix for a cold rainy day. The place was clean and nicely decorated, the staff was very friendly, and prepared my food quickly. I ordered my food Pho and spring rolls to go. The portions were huge and more importantly, it was all delicious! I will be going back with my husband today. :)

This review is based on beef n chicken pho. First the place was clean n i was the only one there at the time. They did packed alot of veggy n meats for beef pho. That was a plus. Now the minus was the.broth. it was on the bland side. Taste like it soup based add on. Missing the rich beef broth that is extracted for minimum 6 hrs from cooking the beef bones. Second visit for chicken pho. This was worse than the beef pho. Did not taste like chicken broth! It seems like mix of beef broth n something else inside. Maybe they had an off day. The part i dont understand is that the chicken taste like turkey sandwhich n sliced thin. Chicken should be pieces so you can pick up for dipping or whatever. Never seen chicken pho meat sliced like sandwich meat. Keeping fallen apart when trying to pick up with the chopsticks or fork. I was disappointed considering the good review in carson. Like to give 3 star. Maybe next visit will be better.

The name of this place alone is genius, yes GENIUS...why?, because it shows what fools & morons run the City of Mission Viejo's Planning Department. This is the department in all cities that reviews and approves businesses or establishments and determines if it 'fits' into the guidelines of city for a specific type of business - Restaurant, Retail, Massage Parlor, etc, and reviews their - Hours, menu...NAME...you get my drift. Hell, my six year old kid even told me the first time we went there and saw the sign outside....'Dad, look!, the name of this place sounds like a real 'BAD' word!'. I went here with the family the first time and by myself the second. The first time I enjoyed the Pho but was too busy trying to figure out what the kid would or would not eat and my wife just does not get Vietnamese food...too bad for her. So what I ended up ordering was not what I wanted...too bad for me, but it was still very good, as good as some of the Pho places in Westminster or Garden Grove I had been to a few times in the past. The service was great, the Server asked us if we had ever eaten Pho or Vietnamese food before, my wife said that she and kid no, but I had. The Server tried to guide each of them to dishes that they should like...but alas, the wife and kid are just not fans. But I am. The second time I went, by myself, I tried the Pho King Way Bowl - XL. Way too much food, enough for a family of four. Other than over ordering, the Pho and all the ingredients were great. I am not an expert on this stuff, but it is like anything else. If it tastes good and all the ingredients work well together, well than it is all good in my book. I am sure that if I came here with someone who either grew up on this food type or really knew the great, from the good to the bad, I could get an education on the stuff. But I did not have the luxury of that type of learning curve. So I just go on what I like and enjoy. The one nice thing is the Server did tell me what to add to the Pho, the Chili Sauce - 'Red Rooster' and another darker liquid, probably Fish Sauce. The addition of these two ingredients made all the difference in the world, the Pho was outstanding, at least for me. NONE of the meats were tough or chewy, they all had their own ''correct' taste, in other words you could easily distinguish Pork from Beef...etc. The noodles were firm and chewy, not tough and had a very good clean taste. Again I reiterate, I am NOT an expert on this stuff nor claim to be knowledgeable on it, but I know what I like. I have eaten it a few times and the Pho here was a very enjoyable meal....but way too much food for one guy. I ended up taking some home and It did NOT taste the same when reheated, in fact it was not that great reheated at all. The next time I will probably get the same dish, but the small version so I can finish the entire bowl there. For all those that grew up on it, you guys are the real experts and I differ to you for your expert evaluation of the product. But for a non-asian who basically will eat anything, if it's good or better, well I would tell anyone else out there, in my category of 'Novice' Pho Eater, the Pho was damn good and I am coming back for more! Besides, it's less than a mile from my house.

This is my new go-to Pho place! It is a little cheaper, much cleaner and just as tasty as my other pho place. The service is friendly - they are happy to be there! And they actually tell you what the meat is. For the OC - this is good pho. THey also have some other menu items I am going to have to try! So - well priced, friendly service, clean and good pho - can't beat it!

Absolutely horribly terribly pho. I agree with Mike. I was order the Oxtail. I paid for $9.95 for 1 piece oxtail in the soup. what the..... My husband order the Fillet mignon beef, wow the the taste was so terribly too, to much black sauce and salty... Don't waste your money, we never will come back to this place.

Great lunch. The had oxtails on special. One of my favorites. I would have liked to have seen one more medium bone in the bowl. They gave a free tapioca dessert which is the best I have ever had. I will be back soon to try other dishes.

Best Pho in MV!! A regular stop for lunch especially when feeling a bit sluggish... something about Pho makes me feel like I just ate a bowl of Mom's homemade chicken soup! :)

So let me start this off by saying, I stumbled upon this place through YELP because it was the only pho place opened past 9. This little pho joint must be new because I've never known for there to be a pho place in this plaza! When I walked into the place, it was a nice atmosphere. Definitely not a hole-in-the-wall authentic vietnamese restauraunt feel. You can tell it "fits in with the plaza." I was surprised by how americanized and basic the menu was and thought to myself, there's no bun bo hue? You can tell by the way they have the menu setup that its for pho beginners. I got there at about 9:30pm so not really that many people there. Ordered the Pho King XL bowl to go since I only had 12 dollars on me and needed to feed me and the bf. The food was quick, probably about 5 minute wait. Got home and they provided me with ample soup. (Thank goodness). I want to say they skimped out a little bit on the amount of meat. I definitely thought there would be more. There was definitely enough soup and noodles. There were about 7 pieces of rare steak, flank, 2 pieces of tendon and a little bit of tripe. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The broth was good, the noodles were good even for to-go. Sometimes, you go to a pho place and the noodles must've not gone through the cold rinse cycle because it absorbs all of the soup. The broth was nice and dark. The rare beef slices were a little small, but tender and cut nicely. Some places doesn't cut the steak pieces right. I wished the tendon was less square and more chunky. Overall, I would come back here for pho and to maybe try out something different. If you're looking for something more authentic though and more variety of dishes I would recommend going to a different place. I'd call this more of a americanized pho place. I also felt it was a little pricier than the pho places I'm use to.

Always place Take out orders and pick it up. Order the Pho and it is always very good. Quick to make it and send me home. Light and refreshing soups that are delicious. I recommend placing to-go orders here. They get you water while you wait and are very nice. Cannot comment on the dining in experience as I have never tried.

The pho was too cinnamony, too much noodles, barely give you any meat and on top of it the head chef was cussing at the waiters and host in Vietnamese but you hear f bombs! And there was a lot of customers there too! So I advise whoever goes there don't bring your kids and expect ALOT OF NOODLES!

I've eaten pho at about a dozen other places, dozens of times, but this is, by far, the best Vietnamese food I've had to date. Their Pho is outstanding. 1-3 meats at the base price. Spring rolls are the best I've ever had, lots of meat, big shrimp, and very tasty peanut sauce to dip.

3.25 stars to be exact! it was over 90 degrees outside and definitely not the perfect weather to eat pho.. but ive been craving to eat pho for almost a month and finally decided i will go get it today!! im glad that inside the restaurant wasnt as hot as the weather outside, it was pretty cool actually.. so i can still enjoy my pho without having to sweat.. anyways, i came here with my brother and heres what we ordered: 1. regular pho with a choice of 3 meats for $6.55 ( yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-… ). this pho was quite a let down for both me and my brother. the broth was too salty and i can feel it that they put lots of msg.. i was expecting some clear broth too but this one was kinda dark in color.. so 2 stars for their pho 2. seafood stir fry for $7.95 ( yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-… ) - this one wasnt bad. they give plenty of seafood and veggies. the noodle was crispy too, i wish they'd give more sauce so that its easier to mix it... 3.5 stars for this dish 3. Che 3 mau $2.55 ( yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-… ) - i was quite surprised when i saw their che was only $2.55. its heck of cheap, even if u bought it at westminster, u wont find this price anywhere... the cheapest che 3 mau ive ever bought in westminster was $3 and many places sold it at a much higher price than that. so i was excited upon learning this deal and decided to try it.. it came with a nice presentation and they fill ur glass to the max amount it could possibly hold, which also made it more difficult to mix. but as soon as i tried it, i was like 'am i eating sugar or what'.. the che was soo freaking sweet and its too thick.. the jelly taste kinda weird too, like it has losses its texture.. the bean was still hard and i need to chew it for quite some time.. 1.5 star for the che.. yes its cheap, but i feel like imma get a diabetes soon after i finished it. im not gonna get their che again even if its cheap, rather spent more and get it at westminster to satisfy my sweet tooh and not to mention that the che in westminster are really good, with right amount of sugar, texture, and sweetness!! service was pretty quick, maybe because we were the only customer there.. there were few others that came after us.. but it wasnt packed or anything. we got our ordered ready in about 5 mins. it wasnt a friendly or nice service or anything. it was just a typical asian service. .. we also got a complimentary dessert (warm mung bean sup with small tapioca pearl). i took the pix of this one but it just disappeared on my phone, so sorry guys, no pix for this dessert! but it was pretty good and taste much better than their che.. ill just gonna have this instead of their che next time..

the portions here are pretty big. better service than most little asian joints. i had the vermicilli with all the trimmings and i couldn't complain! My GF had meat ball pho. she liked it, although the noodles were a tad bit different that what most places use. better places in other parts of OC, but all in all there are not so many pho places around this area, so it will do the job. I'll come back

Being Vietnamese, I only expect the Pho to be good at a Pho Diner so I am only rating the Pho. I told my (white) husband such but he ordered a noodle dish which was not good at all. Back to the Pho. The broth is what makes the Pho if you don't have good broth then forget it. This broth was actually good for south county. I have had so much bad Pho in South OC hat I have avoided South County Pho for about 6 years! My Vietnamese friend said it was good here so I reluctantly tried it (I only take Pho recommendations from Vietnamese friends, as should you, and yes, I am a Pho snob). We ordered 3 orders of Pho Tai (rare meat cook in hot broth). There was a decent amount of quality meat but was lacking in garnishment. We got very little onion/ cilantro garnish, and very little bean sprouts for the 3 Pho orders. My Caucasian husband ordered and picked it up so maybe they thought that he did not need much or use much of the herbs and garnishments. So I added more at home. I would like to give it a 3 1/2 so optimistically rounded to a 4 because I am rating it with other South Co Pho places. I will go back here when I have a craving and can't make it to Irvine or Little Saigon. If you go here I can only recommend the Pho. If they consistently make good Pho I might venture out and try their Noodle and Rice dishes with grilled pork. These are signature Vietnamese dishes of most Pho restaurants. My recommendation for the owners is to give more meat and garnishments when we order more than one bowl of Pho. We obviously like Pho, else we wouldn't have ordered 3 bowls.

It was pretty good. I had the spring rolls, they were big and good. The sauce was good and I don't usually like the sauce that comes with spring rolls. I also had a Thai iced tea it was ok. They are still working out the kinks but over all this place is pretty good. Cute decor too. They are having 20% off for the grand opening. The service was friendly, they are still learning though. Give it a try I'm interested to hear what more people think of the place.

I eat here at least once a week. It is safe to say that Pho King Way is my favorite fucking restaurant. The broth is the perfect blend of beef fat, spices and whatever it is that makes it soo good. The options for meat are nearly unlimited, there are 7 different types to choose from. A good tagline would be "over 5,000 meat combinations available". But its too late, I thought of it first. And did the math. Service is better than one would expect, atypical of your average Vietnamese restaurant, but I'm here enough that I might be biased. Or them. Who knows. I eat a lot of pho, I really enjoy trying new places, but THIS is the only pho I crave.

Anytime a new asian joint opens in the food mecca known as South County, us asians take notice and jump at the chance to try it out. Sometimes I don't want to drive to Westminster and get lost in the sea of Bimmers, Benzos and Lexuses trying to find parking at Asian Garden mall, but I digress. This place isn't bad at all. I ordered the Bun King Way combo, and let me tell you, that was a big ass bowl of noodles and 6 or 7 types of meat. Luckily, I was hungry, and I killed it, but not without a wimper. The meats were just ok, I just wished it would be a little tastier. I tried their pho tai, and that wasn't bad either. The broth wasn't too oily, which gave it an abundance of flavor. Extra bonus for not putting MSG, because that makes me feel like a lazy ass an hour later. They give you a lot of meat, considering a lot of pho places barely give you any. If it was in Little Saigon Pho King Way would get a 3, but since the owners are smart to open up in the food mecca of South OC, they get a 4. If I'm sick, I'll be here to get my pho fix on.

This is possibly the best pho you can get south of brookhurst. Broth was not as meaty as I'd like, but it had enough flavor in it that I didn't have to douse it in fish sauce (see my review for pho Bo vang). They brought out LIMES, not lemons (if you know pho, you'll know lemons suck), and were generous with basil and bean sprouts. One star off for skimping a bit on the meat. Bottom line, prices were reasonable and broth was good -all that really matters in the world of pho.

My time is very valuable and lunch breaks are rare. When I have time to eat out during working hours I want quick and delicious food. A few of the girls from work decided to give this place try, so I went a long. The name of this place is "unique". (to say the least) We get there and its a mad house. It was packed. People coming going. It was a bit loud. I tried to keep an open mind. I ordered the Chicken soup with veggies. The first thing I noticed is that when they took our orders, they did not write them down. There was 5 of us in our group. I though they may mix up or make mistakes on our orders because we each ordered different dishes and I was wrong. They were all correct. I ordered the Chicken soup with Vegetables. I really love Pho, and this was Delicious! The broth was great wonderful aroma and flavor. The meat and vegetables were perfect. I also ordered the fresh shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce. They were very, very good. The service was quick, the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. I was very happy. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. I look forward to another visit to this very healthy and Delicious restaurant.

Close to home pho fix. I usually get the large pho with rare steak. Generous portions and even a $1000 food challenge.
